Well lots of things play into this.. open enrollment has caused problems for small schools with one or two elite wrestlers.. They or their club wants them in a winning program.. schools that have more than 1 open enrollment should be automatically placed in top class.. this would allow some of these small schools keep their homegrown talents..

I would say the open enrollment plays a big part especially with districts spread so far, some kids actually have a shorter drive to a different school outside the district they live in. Also, you have multiple middle and elementary schools feeding into the same district from farther away. This makes youth programs tough to put together, travel hard to manage, and commitment to a long grueling season a tough sell. Obviously, if you want to create and sustain a lasting program these excuses don't mean a thing but they definitely make it harder.
