I have been fortunate to be around many HS programs over the years and it seems that every program does this a little different. I've seen some teams wait as long as possible, some get a couple down before the official one. I have seen teams use the calipers or the scale, give hydration test and others not. What is required by the state, and what are some of the pros and cons of doing them? Does this have to be done by a certified doctor/trainer?
